[Letter] 1796 Dec. 1 Northampton County, N.C. to Thomas Ustick, Philadelphia / Lem'l Burkitt. 1796 Dec. 1.

Burkitt writes on behalf of a friend who will be "traveling in the Northern States." He complains to Ustick of the decline in religion; "but few are baptized, and many die, excommunicated and move in the western territories." He reports; however that when he was first in the Kehukee Association, there were only ten churches, whereas it has divided into three associations, and now contains seventy-five churches.
